Pomp and
Circumstance and then it
was all gone (8-31) Teaching has
ruined more American novelists than
drink. I think
it's about coming to terms. Maybe I was dragging my feet
looking for a new job, looking for a way to get away from
teaching. In the back of my mind, there were questions about
if I really wanted to leavie it at all. I think I was
ready to get away from the school I was teaching at, but
only because of the intolerable conditions and attitudes
that my coworkers and managers brought to the place. Maybe
that's why getting laid off from the place came as such a
blow. or
maybe it was because of this. Mr.
Luft, Many
People come into your life with mystery and many
people go But
the person most remembered is the one who taught
you what you know The
one who will always be just a phone call or e-mail
away The
one who knew exactly what do and what to
say The
one who never doubted you even when you doubted
yourself The
one friend you help with he doubts
himself For
me that would be one who kept my attention with
lectures The
one who could make everyone laugh with his
gestures The
one who told you his mistakes so you wouldn't do
the same The
one in school that no one knew by name The
one that could always tell when something was on
your mind The
one who always helped you in class and on his
time Mr.
Luft, not only did I learn a lot from you but it
was fun I
want to thank you for putting faith in me when I
had none. Thank
You, Christina
